EXCLUSIVE: The week keeps getting better for Bill Lawrence. After getting a series pickup at Fox for Surviving Jack on Wednesday and at NBC for Undateable earlier this morning, he also just received a series order for comedy pilot Ground Floor at TBS, which recently renewed his Cougar Town. Ground Floor, which the Scrubs and Cougar Town creator wrote with former Friends and How I Met Your Mother executive producer Greg Malins, is a workplace comedy with a romantic twist that stars Skylar Astin (Pitch Perfect), Briga Heelan (Cougar Town) and John C. McGinley (Scrubs). Ground Floor, which has received a 10-episode order for a 2014 launch, is being produced by Lawrence’s Doozer in association with Warner Horizon TV, with Lawrence and Jeff Ingold serving as executive producers. This marks a second series pickup for Heelan today, who also has a supporting role on Undateable. She is in first position on Ground Floor but, given the fact both series hail from the same studio and producer, it is conceivable that she might do both. Among recent TV castings, Pitch Perfect‘s Alexis Knapp was set to co-star in TBS’ comedy pilot Ground Floor, from Bill Lawrence and Greg Malins. She plays Tori, a sexy co-worker of Jennifer (Briga Heelan) who hits the clubs at night and catches up on her sleep at work. Knapp, repped by CAA and Untitled, recently guest starred in the ABC comedy pilot Super Fun Night opposite her Pitch Perfect co-star Rebel Wilson and in the Lifetime pilot Cinnamon Girl.

Amazing news for all fans of Pitch Perfect – a sequel has been confirmed by Universal Pictures for a release in 2015!
The breakout comedy hit of last year is still gaining steam after a great performance at the 2013 MTV Movie Awards over the weekend and a new music video for “Cups” featuring star Anna Kendrick.
Adam Fogelson, the head of Universal Pictures, revealed the news during the studio’s CinemaCon presentation on Tuesday (April 15) and confirmed that original screenwriter Kay Cannon is back for the project.

Last night, Alexis attended the 2013 MTV Movie Awards with her ‘Pitch Perfect’ friends. I have added several photos of Alexis performing onstage during the show (you can watch the video below) and accepting the award for “Best Musical Moment”. Congratulations!
The cast of Universal’s Pitch Perfect are set to reunite for the first time live on-stage at the MTV Movie Awards, where one of their own – Rebel Wilson – will serve as host.
The Barden Bellas and Treblemakers, played by Wilson, Skylar Astin, Anna Camp, Esther Dean, Adam Devine, Alexis Knapp, Hana Mae Lee, Ben Platt and Brittany Snow, will perform a new musical mash-up performance conceived and executed by the film’s director, Jason Moore. The set will serve as the show’s opening number.
“I could not be more thrilled for the MTV Movie Awards to be the setting for the Pitch Perfect Bella and Treblemaker reunion,” said Moore. “We have something exciting in store for the MTV audience, and I know the cast and fans are going to really enjoy our first-ever live performance!”
The film itself is up for four awards at the April 14 ceremony, including best female and best breakthrough performances for Wilson, best musical moment for the Bellas as a whole and best WTF moment for Camp.
Missing from the reunion is the film’s star, Anna Kendrick. Sources indicate that the actress is unable to commit due to scheduling conflicts, which could potentially be resolved in time for the show.
MTV also announced on Thursday that Macklemore and Ryan Lewis will be on hand to perform their “Thrift Shop” follow-up single, “Can’t Hold Us.”
